MrWally Posted June 26, 2006 Author Posted June 26, 2006 Anyone else here like classics like The Red Skelton Show? Or Bonanza?
Jeff Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 Definitely Seinfeld. I have all 5 volumes on DVD. I don't really watch too many new tv shows these days.
milo Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 Oh man, it's been ages since I've seen Outlaw Star. That show was excellent. Hell yes! Old school Toonami rules.
jon_hill987 Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 Firefly (got the DVD) Father of the Pride (thinking about geting the DVD) Stargate SG-1 (have seasons 1-7 on DVD) Futurama the Simpsons Two and a half men Smallville Scrubs My name is Earl Invasion (they had better make season two or else... I will be upset.) Dead Ringers
MachineCult Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 Firefly, definitely my all time favourite, glad to see so many other people like it. My other favourites are Lost, ER and UK/Aus only, Neighbours and Hollyoaks.
DarthAve Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 Drive Thru History, Fact or Fiction: Beyond Belief, Whose Line is it Anyway? I love beyond belief. I also like simpsons, cash cab, mythbusters, weakest link, project runway, and top chef.
CapNColostomy Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 I like Curb Your Enthusiasm quite a bit. Funny stuff.
swphreak Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 I am ashamed of myself... I forgot Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, and Reno 911. I still think I forgot some...
BongoBob Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 Damnit, I forgot Reno 911 too. And Two and a Half Men. There was another show that used to be on right after it that I loved, but for the life of me I can't remember it.
Det. Bart Lasiter Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 I like Curb Your Enthusiasm quite a bit. Funny stuff.I haven't watched that in quite some time. The last time I watched it was last year's season finale. "Then you wait! You wait..."
Commander Obi-Wan Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 I don't really watch any TV Series....though I have watched episodes of most of the show listed. Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is probably my fav.
MrWally Posted June 27, 2006 Author Posted June 27, 2006 ahhh everyone loves Fresh Prince! Will Smith is amazing.
Jeff Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is probably my fav.I still watch that too. The old ones are much better than anything on tv these days.
edlib Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 No Contest: Fawlty Towers With Sienfeld a close (but not too close) second. They re-ran Carl Sagan's "Cosmos" recently, and I really liked seeing that again. What I'm watching nowadays: Daily Show Colbert Report Simpsons Family Guy Austin City Limits (when I can find it on! ) The News Hour w/ Jim Lehrer The Venture Brothers ATHF The McLaughlin Group Now Washington Week in Review Frontline Nova Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex (I've never really liked anime... but this one sucked me in.)
MrWally Posted June 27, 2006 Author Posted June 27, 2006 I really enjoy Cosmos, we watched it in school last year and I found it very interesting. Has anyone else seen the mini series Horatio Hornblower? That was one of my favorites shows of all time.
Tyrion Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 The McLaughlin Group The jazz artist or something entirely different?
Commander Obi-Wan Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 I've heard of Horatio Hornblower. My ma and grandma watched them, I only caught a glimpse of them though.
MrWally Posted June 27, 2006 Author Posted June 27, 2006 They were great, I plan on reading the books this summer when I'm not overwhelmed by AP Euro O_o I love movies and books that take place at sea... especially during the Enlightenment and Age of Revolution.
edlib Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 The jazz artist or something entirely different? Mahavishnu? Well, he's good too... but not exactly what I had in mind: http://www.mclaughlin.com/ Political roundtable discussions... that usually degenerate into ugly shouting matches. Highly entertaining! Normally found on PBS stations.
narfblat Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Simsons MXC Futurama Star Trek The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine
toms Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Probably Buffy. It came along at the right time, and was very fresh and clever in the way it was written. Faded a bit at the end though. Season 3 of Angel was some damn fine TV as well. Firefly rocked. Farscape though is probably the best space/scifi tv series ever. Just too darn celver and original for its own good. West Wing is probably the best written TV series ever, and I'd probably have loved it even more than Buffy if the stupid tv stations hadn't messed arounf with its scheduling so much that i lost track of it after 3 or 4 seasons and kept missing episodes. The new series of Dr Who has a lot of charm about it. Battlestar galactica is nearly great. Babylon 5 was great until the tv execs messed up the last 2 series for everyone. 24 rocks. Its getting very cliched now... but i still can't help loving it. Chloe rules. Liked the first series of Veronica Mars... almost had a buffy vibe. Hated the rushed series finale though and so never finished it. (Batman the animated series. Invader Zim. Clone Wars. Love Hina. Chobits. Avengers (diana rigg era). Spooks (UK). Teachers (Uk, first 2 series). This Life (UK). Simpson. Family Guy. The A Team. Birds of Prey (canned). Vengence Unlimited (Canned) ) LOST I have to say sucks. I'm completely confused by its success. the first few episodes looked like they had great potential... buts its just going nowhere. Slowly. I usually have a much better attention span than average viewers.. so i'm amazed this is doing so well in the USA when attention spans there are supposed to be lower than here. Finally. There was a BBC mini-series one xmas in the 80s called The Box of Delights. that was one of the best few hours of TV ever. Probably too dated SFX wise for those that didn't see it as kids... but i have the DVD and still love it.
Mike Windu Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 In my experience, all the girls ever love Lost, but the guys could care less (me)
