To save the "good stuff" thread from experiencing a cardiac arrest with all the good stuff (get the pun?) we all got for Xmas (or the good ones among us that is ;) ), I thought we could have a thread to post what loot we received for Xmas...

Try not to show off too much and make others feel like nothing, but if you weren't too lucky this time of year or are a bit Grinchy, I suggest you put it in reverse and check out some other wonderful threads in Ahto :)

Anyways, here's my shtuff:

^I just got a cool lamp, snackage, scriptures (my PDA which had my scriptures died earlier this year.) and a book on CD; And, I also would have gotten the fifth Harry Potter on DVD except it got hidden so well that no one could find it. Oh, and I have $50 to spend on shopping tommorow. Apparently, my two siblings and I that still live at home were thought of last for Christmas gifts. Granted that I do have 9 other siblings, not to mention their kids.

I got a bunch of clothes, in terms of books, Newman's Apologia, Waugh's Scoop and Decline and Fall, Alain de Botton Consolations of Philosophy and Benedict XVI's Jesus of Nazareth (which I already had a copy of :p ).

I also got a special edition of Dr. Strangelove: Or How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb, which is, if you haven't seen it, an awesome film. :)

I got a very neat neckacle of pure silver from my girlfriend. It resembles a bunch of little snakes and comes with an optional pendant of a dragon. And, man, it's heavy. I would show you guys the photo of it if I wasn't so tired. It deserves the effort, though. (By the way, I love you, sweetheart!)

Other than that, I got a few books, one is the Golden Book of the World's History and other are fictional. Also got tons of clothings, mostly rubbish and some very good fragances. Nothing in relation to games. Unfortunately, but expected.

And, uh, some snacks and chocolates. I don't really understand why those kind of edible presents on xmas.

Note: Sis got a very neat cell phone I'll be sure to borrow sometimes...

I got a new optical mouse which is nice because I've basically busted my last one, and for the last couple of weeks I hijacked my mom's mouse (she wasn't too pleased). Since I broke my headphones, I got some of those too. I think I need to be more careful with my stuff. :p

I also got a lot of new dress clothes, which is great because I realized when I was going to church yesterday that my closet is full of sweatshirts and not much else. I'll be ready for Easter now! Got the typical random PS2 game from my brother (bless his heart that he tries). Also for those in the midwest I snagged some nice cicada gear (shirt, mousepad, and cicada in resin -- that makes #3). Pretty good loot, all things considered!

I hate situations where I want to return stuff but I got a lot of stuff to return or exchange. The major thing I got this year is an iPod nano. I really needed a new music player because my old mini is just that, old. Been through a new battery and its all beat up. So I really liked that gift but my dad offered me that I could exchange it for the touch and me pay the difference. I was planning on doing that because I've been wanting a touch for a while. My dad ordered it from newegg and their return policy on iPods is no refunds and no replacements. So I'll call them tomorrow but I might be out of luck on a touch this year. My only real argument against their policy is that I want to spend more money, lol.

Other stuff I got:

Wii Games

Super Mario Galaxy

Lego SW The Complete Saga

Tomb Raider Anniversary

DVDs

Pirates of the Caribbean 3

Die Hard 4

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

We Are Mashall

Seinfeld Season 9

Music

Pink Floyd - pulse

Elton John - Rocket Man Number Ones (I'm going to return this because I already have all the songs on it on other CDs)

Random

Logitech Wireless keyboard and mouse

New jeans and sweaters

USB Power Adapter for iPod

Black Leather Gloves (lol Kojo)

Lots of candy

My brother got an Xbox 360 which I was pretty surprised at since my parents have been telling him forever that if he wants it he has to buy it on his own. It came with 2 games and then he got CoD3.

Lessee, I got:

3 shirts that will probably be worn once, and find their way to the back of the closet.

2 Star Wars action figures(Han and Leia) that will be on my desk at home til the plastic disintegrates (I love my wife, she knows me too well).

1 Mr Peanut coffee cup that will only see the light of day once the remainder of the normal coffee cups are dirty

Don't get me wrong I love my family, and appreciate the gifts, but I am starting to get the impression they stopped trying.

The only things I got worth mentioning -

(got a different one than I thought I would... now all that's left is for that nice power supply that'll fit in my diminutive case to get here)

nice. The 8800 is a nice card, that's what I've got in mine. you won't be disappointed.

My family gave me a lot of nice clothes I can use for work and a small shelf stereo system for the kitchen so I have something I can plug my iPod into, and to get the ugly little portable radio with the broken antenna off the counter. :D

With the Christmas money we received from extended family, I'm going to buy Guild Wars: Factions and also a new dishwasher today. My daughter stood on the open door of our current dishwasher and not only broke the door but somehow managed to put a foot-long crack into the plastic tub inside, i.e. not repairable. Sigh. Not how I wanted to spend that money, but that's the way life goes sometimes.

well, i managed to get quite a bit this year. i got:

a navy pinstripe Claiborne suit with a shirt and two striped ties to go with it

a Nautica jacket which i really needed

The Bourne Ultimatum DVD

a new travel mug for my tea

and finally, my friend sold me his Xbox 360 along with all of his games for $20 (part of the payment was the $215 that he owed me for computer parts).

the console included the 20GB HD, one wireless controller and charger, one wired controller, two Xbox Live! headsets, the wireless ethernet adapter, and the VGA adapter.

the games included are:

Halo 3

Assassin's Creed

Call of Duty 4

Ace Combat 6

Saints Row

The Darkness

MX vs ATV Unleashed

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (Xbox version)

Robotech Battlecry (Xbox version)

so, i did manage to get a pretty good Christmas, but that's not really the important part. the best part was seeing the reactions from my family and friends when they opened their gifts. to me, that can make a Christmas without receiving any presents worth it all. :)

i sincerely hope that everybody had a great Christmas. may this next year hold a greater blessing for all of us. ~stingerhs
