Shem
There's actually going to be a new Star Wars movie by George Lucas coming out this summer that will help kick off the new Star Wars TV series in September. http://www.starwars.com/theclonewars/news/announcement.html
JediMaster12
Wow a Star Wars version of TMNT! Let's race to the box office for that It sounds neat that the Clone wars are being portrayed. We hear reference of them in the films and have stories written but this will be a neat thing to see.

adamqd
Very cool, I obviously new of the Series, but a theatrical kick-off is gonna be soooo wizard Ani!!
igyman
I can't say I'm not excited, but after seeing the screenies, I'm not too thrilled with that sort of comical look of the characters, also I read what they said about the plot in that article Shem posted and I don't really understand how Anakin can suddenly have a padawan when there's no mention of her in the movies and let's not forget that he was never a Jedi Master. Regardless of all this, I am looking forward to this production.
Shem
also I read what they said about the plot in that article Shem posted and I don't really understand how Anakin can suddenly have a padawan when there's no mention of her in the moviesI would bet that Anakin's Padawan probably dies in the series sometime before the events of Revenge of the Sith. and let's not forget that he was never a Jedi Master.Neither was Obi-Wan when he took on Anakin. Remember, Obi-Wan was just promoted from Padawan to Jedi Knight when he took on Anakin.

Good point there. The sad part is that I watched the prequel trilogy very recently (in HD ) and I already forgot the tiny details.

Ferc Kast
Sounds cool!!! That definately explains all the new Lego Star Wars sets that came out already. If only I wasn't...Never mind. Hopefully, it'll be as good as the original Star Wars: Clone Wars (if not better). *goes back to modding*
Jeff
Thats awesome, I thought this was gonna be a spoof thread but what a great way to kick off the series.
adamqd
From what I've read, the young Togruta is 'hoping' to be (at least at the beginning) Anakins Padawan, much the same as Obi-Wan had to convince Qui-Gon to take him on. Secondly, the Rank of Master is usually given after training a padawan to Knighthood, or years of service/accepted to the council. Also, all Padawans and non Jedi seem to call Jedi of the rank of Knight or above, Master (Palpatine, children in temple, senators etc)
Miltiades
I quite like the animated look. I've never been really excited about it, up until now. Looks very cool.

Inyri
Anybody else thinking it looks like claymation with real lightsabers? The style reminds me of something they'd show on Nickelodeon.
DeadYorick
Yeah looks like Nickelodeon. I am quite excited about the Starwars TV show. I can't wait for this next movie. Maybe it will tempt George into making a new film. (Fingers crossed)
TKA-001
I thought the next Star Wars film would come after Lucas dies, leaving the franchise to some crazy fanboy. And am I the only person irritated with the fact that the last dozen or so Jedi characters invented have not worn anything similar to Jedi robes? Char Ell
So the rumors turned out to be true. Props to George Lucas and Lucasfilm for using the silver screen as a launch point for their transition to TV. I wasn't a big fan of the first Clone Wars animated shorts that came out. Too cartoonish for my tastes. I'll give the new series a try though. And am I the only person irritated with the fact that the last dozen or so Jedi characters invented have not worn anything similar to Jedi robes? No, you're not. But they've gotta have the lady Jedi showing some skin, right? Those traditional Jedi robes just don't do justice to their sultry figures.
Arcesious
I sure hope that eventually he'll do stuff on what happens after return of the jedi, such as The Thrawn Campaign and the Yuuzong Vong and all of that good stuff...

mimartin
The stills looked somewhat lame to me, but once I watched the Trailer, I cannot wait. It looks incredible.
Serpentine Cougar
Hmm. Well, this should be interesting. Didn't they already do a TV series of the clone wars, though?
Aash Li
If the togruta dies at some point, and is Anikins padawan, I think it will reinforce my notion that Lucas is a misogynist... <,<
