I think there was an animated series, but now there is an animated film. (EDIT: Blast! jonathan7 beat me to it!)

 

I'm not sure about it. I think it will be funny, sure, and different, certainly - but why is it set in the Clone Wars? WE WANT THE RISE OF THE EMPIRE! At least, I want the rise of the Empire. (Actually, I really want an Episode VII, but whatever...)

 

Back on topic...I probably won't go to the cinema to see it, I may rent it when it comes out on DVD.

I'll definitely see it, a lot of people I know don't like the style of the animation and thats probably how a lot of people here feel too but I think the action looks great and I personally think the style looks pretty cool.

It will be. The series is being launched by a theatrical release and will be a weekly series this fall on the Cartoon Network.

 

I’m not excited, but I have four cousins that already made me promise to take them this Sunday. I believe they are excited.

So, Lucas doesn't show up for any of his other movies, but he shows up for a spin-off like this? Has he really gone mad? To me, this whole Clone Wars thing is just milking the Clone Wars era to death. I mean, they already had one animated series based on the Clone Wars, which was actually not that bad, and was pretty good in some ways, but this new series is just overkill. If they really wanted an animation feature with cartoon-esque characters, do it without CGI for God's sake, and use pencil and paper for once, just like in the good ol' days. No one has made a real animated movie in years.

Theres 2 reasons Im seeing it

1. Its star wars so I can dress up like a goof and have lightsaber battles with a few fewer strange looks than when I do it in the parking lot of target.

2. I have nothing else to do until the end of summer now that my swim instructing is over and Im not doing a sport I care about until November.

I dont think itll be great, I'm not a huge fan of the animation theyre using for it, but whatever, I can deal with that.

nice well you have fun with that hey i had a idea but you said you were done withswimming otherwise i was gonna say you could dress up like Kit Fisto and swim like him! only thing is i recomend that you dont use a electrical lightsaber you might get shocked :p

I want to see it. I don't know why alot of people don't want to, yeah it is the Clone Wars again but unlike the cartoon series it may explain more.

 

Also I have read online (I'll post source when I find it again) that Lucas said if Clone Wars is a big hit, then he will consider making more low budget films for other Star Wars eras.

 

WE WANT THE RISE OF THE EMPIRE! At least, I want the rise of the Empire.

Lucas is making a live action tv series about this era scheduled for 2009.

 

Any ways I think this movie may be better than what we all may think. And a lot of the bummed out feelings for the movie is just due to the animation style.

1.) If you mean 3D as in Spy Kids 3D, umm no its not Lucas has already stated that only the trilogies will be in "Spy Kids like" 3D.

2.) Yeah it does seem weird but in a way it makes sense. a.) It gives us a chance to see what it would be like to see Anakin as the master, and b.) it was a time of war and many Jedi were needed, even padawans. Also remember JA when luke assigned multiple students to one master.

3.) So Jabba has a son! You thought all this time that he never had offspring?

 

Not to start a fight or anything but it seems to me that for years people have been saying they wish GL would make more movies about Star Wars and even TV shows. Well he is doing it now and every one is complaining about it because it is not the era they wish to see as a movie/TV show.

1.) He has told his original story, Episodes 1-6. So there is never going to be a 7, 8, or 9.

2.) This is all his universe and characters, he is not going to make a movie or show about whatever time era the fans want to see. If he makes more they will be of his choice.

 

Back on Topic, I think we need to be glad that he is even making Clone Wars. At least he is keeping Star Wars alive.

Perhaps I have not been clear. This is what they believe 3D looks like:

And no, it doesn't make a bit of sense. Anakin is still a padawan himself. How can he have one already?

 

EDIT: Oh, and an addendum: Obi-wan got a padawan just days after becoming a knight, yes, but Obi-wan is no Anakin. The Council knew they could trust Obi-wan, knew that he had no issues like Anakin does. There is no way in hell they'd give Anakin a padawan.

 

But even if you look past that, there are only two ways this ends: either his padawan dies, or she falls to the dark side, because she's not in EpIII and we never hear from her again. And since this is a kids' show, it's going to be done horribly either way.

Jabba doesn't have a son. No Hutts have sons. They're hermaphrodites. And even so, the plot is "Anakin and his padawan who we've never heard of until this point go rescue Jabba's kidnapped son". :rolleyes:

I don't really see what everyone's obsession is with the Clone Wars. We know how everything turns out. Not only that, but we've already seen it, since Lucas and company themselves have been obsessed with the Clone Wars for the past six years. This series is nothing but rehashed storylines and characters, all bundled together with some shoddy animation.

2. No council member in his/her right mind would ever let that impulsive, childish idiot take a padawan, war or no war.

3. Has got to be the most stupid plot device that I've ever heard of.

 

The more I see about Anakin, the less believeable the notion that he and Darth Vader are the same person becomes. GL just needs to let this era die already and move on before he kills Star Wars for good.
