RC-1183 Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 The title explain like the worst game sequels thread but i wanna know which one DID you think were good. Gears of War 2 The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess MGS 4 KotOR II and many others but ill let you fill in the blanks...
TKA-001 Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 TIE Fighter, the sequel to X-wing. X-wing was great, but TIE Fighter was like X-wing on steroids.
mimartin Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 KOTOR 2 Fable 2 Both IMO were better than the original.
Mav Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 TIE Fighter, the sequel to X-wing. X-wing was great, but TIE Fighter was like X-wing on steroids. QFT.

Rabish Bini Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Warlords Battlecry II = Best game ever [/thread]
jrrtoken Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Riven, also known as Myst to the Nth power. Far more superior to its predecessor in every way.

RC-1183 Posted December 6, 2008 Author Posted December 6, 2008 did anyone know of a game by the name of Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time ??
Boba Rhett Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 I vaguely recall hearing of it before. It kinda came and went rather quickly as I remember. Nothing to write home about.
Q Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 It was alright. I thought A Link to the Past was better. I'm trying to get a rise out of Rhett but he isn't biting.
Sabretooth Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Unreal Tournament 2004 over '99 and '03. M-M-M-M-MONSTER KILL!!! And Need for Speed III over Need for Speed II SE. >.>
Mav Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Unreal Tournament 2004 over '99 and '03. M-M-M-M-MONSTER KILL!!! And Need for Speed III over Need for Speed II SE. >.> Too bad the Need for Speed games since belong in the worst game sequels thread...
SW01 Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Grand Theft Auto IV - deeper characters; 'realism' in a lot of features; nice small touches; story better linked Final Fantasy VII - first one in 3D (iirc); Final Fantasy XII - infinitely superior to X. Great implementation of spoken dialogue. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - the modern theatre was a welcome change, and excellently performed. Starfleet Command III - TNG era; good storylines for Federation, Romulans, and Klingons; better interface
Lantzen Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Yuris Revenge Age of Empires 2 conquerors Jagged Alliance 2 Diablo 2: LoD Personaly i though it ruined much of the game, and stopped played online when it came @Sabretooth: blaspheme, the first UT is the best Hmm, well there are alot of good sequels out there, so to list a few Starcraft: Broodwar - What would Starcraft be without it expansion ? Baldurs Gate2 - IMO so much better then BG1 Fallout2 - Not as a big diffrent between BG1 and BG2, but i think Fallout2 still is better then Fallout1 Heroes of Might and Magic3 - Better then all the other games in the serie, prequels and sequels combined:xp: Team Fortress2 - Hmm, really don't know what to say, but i love the style of the game and no class is really good in the game, all have there weakneses and strengths Battlefield2 - Well, spend around 250h with it, so i guess i though it was pretty funny when i played it <.<
Sabretooth Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 @Sabretooth: blaspheme, the first UT is the best It had its original flavour alright, hell I should give it a spin sometime, just for the nostalgia. But after playing Onslaught I really can't go back, it's the greatest UT gametype ever, especially with ONS-Torlan. And no sane man will question the fact 2004 is miles better than 2003.
Arátoeldar Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Baldurs Gate2 Fallout2 KotOR TSL TIE Fighter Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear
Lynk Former Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess I loved Twilight Princess too, though while it had a pretty epic story, it lacked quite a lot of other things. Is it the best "next" (since most Zelda games aren't actually sequels) Zelda game?... I dunno, I can't say that it is. I value all of the 3D console Zelda games though. Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, The Wind Waker, Twilight Princess. All brilliant in their own ways. But then... in the end, is has there actually been a bad Zelda game? (Except for the CD-i ones... they don't count lol. MGS 4 MGS4 was aright, but MGS3 is hands down the best in the Solid series.

Lynk Former Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Resident Evil 4 Whole-heartedly agree. Metroid Prime 3 Corruption Sorta agree... controls and gameplay is excellent... but it was too damn linear. The first Metroid Prime was a lot less linear and then MP2E got a lot more linear and then MP3C was rediculously linear that it took all the thought out of it completely. I hate how they try to appeal to people who hate stuff like backtracking when backtracking is a staple of the Metroid series.
Alkonium Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Half-Life 2 (How is it that noone said that one yet?) Half-Life 2 - Episode One Half-Life 2 - Episode Two Rayman 2 Riven Star Wars Battlefront 2 Team Fortress 2 The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Astor Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 It's not out yet, but Mafia 2. For games that have been released - Age of Empires 2, Commandos 2, GTAIV, and probably many more.
Ctrl Alt Del Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 A lot has been said that I agree with. TIE Fighter Fable 2 Age of Empires 2 conquerors Resident Evil 4 Half-Life 2 I may also add: God of War 2 Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix+
