Q Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Reagan was great, and so were the cartoons, but there are other parts of the 80s that I really hope stay in the 80s. Leg warmers, for example.
BongoBob Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Oh and the cartoons, THE CARTOONS. But the 90s had Animaniacs, Freakazoid, and Rocko's Modern Life to name a few. Therefore 90's > 80's.
Boba Rhett Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 By even daring to say that the 90s had better cartoons than the 80s you just failed harder than anyone has ever failed in the history of fail. Good luck living with yourself you horrible horrible person.
edlib Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 People, people... I think we can all agree: ANY DECADE OTHER THAN THE ONE YOU PERSONALLY CAME-OF-AGE IN SUCKS MORE HORRIBLY THAN THE POWER OF WORDS COULD EVER EXPRESS. Lets face it: Nobody walks away unscathed from the great "let's compare the pop-culture of different decades" debate. It's a zero-sum game, and we all get dirty and become lesser human beings for doing it. But the 80's were the best...
TiE23 Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 80's had some ****ty music. Though some metal in the 80's was damn fine. Also, all cartoons suck after awhile. Just try watching *Insert a show you liked when you were 12* and tell yourself that you still like it. They never age well.
Boba Rhett Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 The hell they do, son. I could still watch 80's cartoons every day. I'm even stockpiling eighties cartoons on dvd for my future children. Also, some metal? .. SOME metal? I.-the.-it... What? Everyone knows that metal had attained perfection by the year of our Lord, 1988.

They never age well. Bullllllllllllllllllllllllllllllls***. I know for a fact that Freakazoid is just as awesome as it was 10+ years ago because I was just watching it on DVD last night, and I still watch Rocko's Modern Life whenever it's on Nicktoons network and no-one else is using the main TV.
TiE23 Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Damn, I did like Rocko's Modern Life, grrr. >_> I also had a thing for Angry Beavers, hah.
Pho3nix Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 80's had some ****ty music. Though some metal in the 80's was damn fine. What? The 80's had some of the best music ever made.
MrWally Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 I miss 80s Queen I would have killed to see them live during their prime. KILLED.
Lightsaberboy Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 I miss 80s Queen I would have killed to see them live during their prime. KILLED. what if it was one of us you had to kill? O_O
TiE23 Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 I bet Dath would have a list of willing candidates.
Nerd_Annhilator Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Guys...stop lying to yourselves.. the 90s sucked hardcore. you know it.
MrWally Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Back on topic: After seeing these pictures I decided that I can never complain about snow again: Apparently that weather is normal for some places, like Newfoundland and spots in Japan.
MrWally Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Here is a winter picture that I took yesterday with Roxstar http://www.deviantart.com/download/110172846/Winter_At_Waubonsie_Lake_by_TheSeeker417.jpg For full resolution.
MrWally Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Ooh, thanks leXX! I would never have guessed that you had a deviantART account.
leXX Posted February 2, 2009 Author Posted February 2, 2009 My youngest daughter Jade with a couple of snowmen she and my husband made early this morning... http://twitpic.com/1aokq http://twitpic.com/1aom2 http://twitpic.com/1aosh London is severly disrupted today. -7 with windchill. Heaviest snowfall for 18 years. No buses running, severe delays on the tubes and most schools closed.

No buses running, severe delays on the tubes and most schools closed. I'd heard things were bad down south, but I didn't realise it was that bad. It's not too bad up here in Warwickshire, but it's snowing heavily at the moment. And thank the lord, I've just been told College shuts at 1! No being stuck here till 4!
