Thrik Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Also the rendering on that poster is fantastic, Laser. Did you get the character models from some high-res promo art or is that just epic clean-up on your part?
sinus Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 qft ^^ This one's all self-made... well, minus modeling the characters. But I've remodeled them quite a bit to make them more high-res, then lit and rendered them. The some Photoshop work and that's it. Still took me a while though
elTee Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Nice work on the hi-res version of that collated box art poster!
JBRAA Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Thanks a million for the hard work and effort Laserschwert. *bows* ^^
Nonzeroenfilade Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Hey guys, I'm really impressed with the effort people have made here. Im pretty amateur in the field of restoration, but I had a go with some Kings Quest cover art. Tell me what you think.
urluckyday Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 ^Wow, good work. Not a huge kings quest fan, but those look nice.
lemos Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Just got my hands on this from a cast member of grim fandango! Original One sheet poster. I bet you guys didn't think this existed =) Any chance someone could get their hands on this and share the scanned image of it? I'd really like to have this poster
Lagomorph01 Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Any chance someone could get their hands on this and share the scanned image of it? I'd really like to have this poster This.
Samnmax221 Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I want this, problem is I'm running out of wall space.
urluckyday Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 This. I was looking for a link...and then I realized I was duped by a bad joke haha
V_Ben Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 damn that grim poster looks sweet. i think i'm in love :-)
Lagomorph01 Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I was looking for a link...and then I realized I was duped by a bad joke haha I actually just wanted people to know that I want that Grim poster too. I've seen people do that before.
Sk-F Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Wow Laserschwert, regarding that ToMI poster of yours... it's absolutely amazing! If I may, I'd like to request something; would you be so kind as to provide a version of that same poster w/o the.. -I don't know how to call them- marks that make it like an old painting? I mean, the 'cracks' that are found all over it. Don't mistake me though, I LOVE your work, it's just I'd like to see a clean version of it if possible. Thank you in advance!
Laserschwert Posted January 22, 2010 Author Posted January 22, 2010 Actually I've done a few variations of the thing: Normal version Clean version Brushstroke version "Drew-Struzan-Wannabe" version
Sk-F Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 THANK YOU LASERSCHWERT!! You're an amazing digital artist :-). In my opinion, the Drew Struzan alike version is an absolute winner!
Laserschwert Posted February 20, 2010 Author Posted February 20, 2010 Sooo... since "The Dig" was one of the first posters I've tackled for my project, I think it's time to at last make a decent version of it. So, it's in the works: (As always, click for a bigger version) The version with the four astronauts was actually easier to do, since the fourth guy (or was it a girl?) helped me cover up the LucasArts-logo on the cover. I still have to find a bit of material to paint the logo out of the three-astronaut-version.
Longcat Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Nice:) I'm glad to see the project is not abandoned, and as always very appreciative of your work. Thank you:)
Laserschwert Posted February 22, 2010 Author Posted February 22, 2010 I've added four new posters to the opening post(s): Enjoy!
elTee Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Thanks Laserschwert, been waiting for Loom for a while. Great work! Is it just me, or is the text version of Loom corrupted?
Laserschwert Posted February 22, 2010 Author Posted February 22, 2010 Is it just me, or is the text version of Loom corrupted?I've re-uploaded it a few hours ago, since it WAS corrupted... but now everything should be working fine... maybe try re-downloading it? If the MediaFire-link causes trouble, just get it from Rob's FTP (the link can be found in the opening post). Coming soonish: It's made from a magazine ad... can anybody decypher the signature? Chomey? Chorney? I've googled, but found nothing... any guesses?
Lagomorph01 Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 I have no idea. I even googled Chotney, Chopney and Chofney. I've never seen this one though. It looks cool, even thoug the headshots are a little bit off.
Aububuh Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 It's probably this guy. http://www.stevenchorney.com/ I can't find that Dig poster on the site, but he's done some other Lucas stuff, and the signature looks the same.
Laserschwert Posted February 22, 2010 Author Posted February 22, 2010 YES! Good find... and I've actually been to his site before... weird. Cool thing, now we can properly credit him (and I can bug him about the original artwork).
