Kain
Okay, I loved Final Fantasy up until 10. Thats just me though. But then they got Final Fantasy X-2...my my...how 'reaching for the younng mans testosterone'ish of Square ENIX, no Soft, ENIX. And that commercial that gets shown ever 12 seconds is really...really...really...really starting to get to me. And Final Fantasy XI. Wow...Everquest, anybody? Seriously, all the Everquest jockoffs are even worse than Everquest. Final Fantasy XI, Matrix Online, World of Warcraft. Heres an idea for a game: Not one that takes someone elses idea. Okay, now if you'd like to show your disapproval of any Final Fantasy stuff, or with me, here yer chance... Damn Square...
Tyrion
Final Fantasy XI actually does sound like a good idea. However x-2 seems to have only one purpose, and that is to fill the need for male teen horniness. FFVII is the only game I've played, however, but it's a kickass one. Easily in my top 5 rpg's. wassup
When will they stop with all the numbers!? I mean, if its a Final Fantasy, shouldn't it be final/the end? Yes, the graphics are good, and some FF games released were good, but most nowadays are just mediocre.
Tyrion
Well, you've seen many Fantasies which were final in that story line. The only one that strayed from that was X-2, which I dont accept as a final fantasy anyway.
Darth Groovy
I never got into it at all. So I'd like to jump on the anti-FF bandwagon. I'm sick of it all.

Are you actaully saying that there's a lack of male teen horniness? My, times have certainly changed since I was a teen. Seriously though, I never thought much about the series to begin with. In fact, I consider myself an avid gamer, yet I've never touched a controller that had a Final Fantasy at the other end of it. They've just never appealed to me. Got room on that bandwagon for one more?

IG-64
Final Fantasy VII was the best, then 8 kinda sucked, then 9 was ok, but i never played 10; it was just gettin too freakin old

Neverhoodian
I've only seen a friend play about twenty minute's worth of Final Fantasy X at his house. I only played a blitzball round or two. Though the graphics and cutscenes are impressive, I wasn't hooked. RPG's have never really interested me, as I usually never finish RPG games that I start. I don't care that much about leveling up and equipping things. About the most RPG-ish game I play anymore is Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. Maybe that will change if I get KOTOR for Christmas. Still, besides the blitzball, I've never played a Final Fantasy game. One more on the bandwagon on account of lack of interest.
Darklighter
I'll just say one thing in defence of FF - no matter how much you criticise subsequent FF games, if it wasn't for this series, there would hardly be any decent RPGs today. I love how the series has moved with the times, and how they've transferred the game style, characters abd gameplay dynamics onto more advanced consoles. Though, one aspect of the games, which FF is probably most famous for, and will never change: story. Gotta take into consideration, too, that it is (I'm sure) the most successful longest running game series ever created (for RPGs at least...well, it's not too popular in this thread, I can see...XD). On a side note, FF8 and FFX are my favourites ^_^ *runs away before he gets beaten into the ground by hoarding FF-haters* XP
jokemaster
I've only played a couple (or three if you count tactics). I still enjoy them, sure I'm not gonna buy FFXI, but I'll probably buy FFXII, why? Because I enjoy those games, I usually like the stories, I like the gameplay. The graphics are usually excellent, and they seem to move along with the times very well. BTW: it's called Final Fantasy because Squaresoft was about to go broke when a guy decided that they should put all the money they had left into one last game, and they called it Final Fantasy since it would be that company's final game *Runs with Darklighter*
ET Warrior
I LOVE Rpg's. They are my all time favorite genre of gaming, and the Final Fantasies are no exception. I've never been able to a play a lot of any of them, due to my severe lack of a PS2, but I've played them at friends houses and I just LOVE em. So I am going to light the anti-Final-fantasy bandwagon on fire.
BigTeddyPaul
Damn right Brother. Final Fantasy is the best series of games ever. 7 is the all time greatest game I have ever played. 8 had a good story line and great graphics but the constant battles got annoying and their characters weren't fleshed out as well as I thought they could. 9 was a great game with a mix of fun and story. The characters and abilities were great. I bought a PS2 just for the sole purpose of 10 and 10-2. Hockey is a minor concern but I must play blitzball. Tidus, Brother, Wakka, Rupp, Kukkalaun (sp) and Nimrock rule! I played about 40 hours of X-2 and I was impressed overall. People complained about being linear with 10 and in this game it is soooo the opposite. The only thing that I could see that was directed towards horny teens was when you gave LeBlanc a massage. My little sister was watching me do that and I didn't appreciate that. Bad Square for trying something different and maybe trying to draw more females to the game. I miss Materia. I also must note that Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within was nothing like the game and should not be associated with such a wonderful franchise. The only reason I bought a PS2 was for FFX. Then I played all the others on PS like VII VIII and IX. Loved it. Now I'm hooked. Waiting to get FFX-2 for XMAS. topshot
Well, as far as I've known, I've only played a few Final Fantasy titles: Final Fantasy Legend, FF 1-3, FFX, and if you count the battle with Culex in Super Mario RPG (SNES) as a Final Fantasy deal, then that's all you've heard from me. Well, since I stated that I played a few, I'll have to agree with ET Warrior: It's time to pour gasoline all over the anti-Final Fantasy bandwagon and light it on fire. I'll possibly check out The Crystal Chronicles (when it comes out) and Final Fantasy Advance.
IG-64
oh, they are smart, they are very smart. They are boosting the graphics and quality of FFVII for the PS2 and including an hour of CG FFVII movie to the package. Hmm, i'd say maybe $100,000,000 worth of sells for sony

Okay, now if you'd like to show your disapproval of any Final Fantasy stuff, or with me, here yer chance... Damn Square... to be honest...I think online was the way to go....Square probably got upset that all their biggest fans had absolutely no social skills and life becaue they all cooped up inside playing FF alone for half their lives...so now they get to do it with others. Seriously though online is the way to go, I think its a great move that opens up the possibility to truly role play a character...instead of letting the script role play for you. (Seems that these days people think a RP game means experience and leveling up to use some super, on hit slay everything sword, when in reality a RP game is when you take on the role of a particular character and act it out accordingly using your own imagination, not the imagination of game script writers for convorsations) I dont understand your Enix argument, if anything its allowing them to continue making more and better games, so im not complaining. Also its the FF games that have since day one been pushing the game systems limits, making them perform at their peak...setting examples for other games. So I could say IMO if it wasnt for the FF games...the Cain Legacy games would look horrible because they wouldnt be competing with the top of the line FF graphics for the market...I dont see the deal with the Cain games anyways...tried to play the first one, was blahhed to death, it just seemed too cliched. so I guess I am in between, theres no reason to hate FF other than to piss people off...and ive played them all cept x2 and enjoyed them. But I am deffinately not crapping a brick every time one is released and spend 2 weeks straight playing it.
mknote
I have liked only 3 things FF: 7 (to be sure, best game EVER), 8 (not as good, but wonderful), and The Spirit Within (I just cannot see how people didn't like that). MK
MuRaSaMuNe
I love the FF series (except 8 and 5 ) 6,7 and 10 were my favs. Square made plenty other RPGs that I liked even more then the Final Fanatasy series that they really should have continued on such as Chrono Trigger and Xenogears. I don't think the Final Fantasy series will ever grow old on me.... it's something different everytime and the plots are great. Chrono Trigger probably will always stand as my fav Square RPG though FFX-2 was a dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb idea though. I saw a commercial for it and it had Yuna singing as a pop star...... what the???????? I dunno what they were thinking there.
Pie™
Yeah chrono trigger was kickass! i rounded it like 5 times, the only game i've played more is Diablo 2. The only thing i didn't like was the battle with lavos in the end, which was a bit 2 easy One hell of a sig you've got there murasamune (does the nick come from Masamune in CT?)
