John Galt Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Blackfield, by Blackfield, off the album(you guessed it) Blackfield. http://youtube.com/watch?v=DrIqp4vBgP8 Blackfield(the band) is a collaboration between Porcupine Tree's Steven Wilson and Aviv Geffen. Stylistically they are quite similar to PT, and therefore awesome. Good song, good video.
Rabish Bini Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Through the Fire and Flames - DragonForce The fastest song I've ever heard, and I'm lovin' it. Other good songs from DragonForce are Valley of the Damned and Operation Ground and Pound.
Da_man Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Through the Fire and Flames - DragonForce The fastest song I've ever heard, and I'm lovin' it. Other good songs from DragonForce are Valley of the Damned and Operation Ground and Pound. Excellent choice of usic my friend. I think Valley of the Damned was thier best one yet.
Rabish Bini Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 Yeah I like Valley of the Dmaned, it's good as. Currently listening to: Cry for Eternity - DragonForce Another good, fast-paced song by DragonForce
Da_man Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 Yeah, I'm a big fan of Dragonforce, I have all of thier Albums. I am now listening to: The Libertad Album by Velvet Revolver. Fairly good album, a lot better than the usual crap I see ppl buy.
Rabish Bini Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 Same here. Currently listening to: Aces High - Iron Maiden My fav Maiden song, fast paced and awesome.
The Doctor Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 At the moment, I've got Sensorium playing by the Dutch metal group Epica. Not many people I know are into metal music, and even of the few metalheads I know, only a handful of them have ever heard of Epica. They're a female fronted Symphonic Metal group, almost bordering on the Progressive Metal genre with some of their newer stuff. They sort of grew out of After Forever, after their guitar player and growler, Mark Jansen, left. Anyone else a fan, or even heard of them?
Samuel Dravis Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Wow, bringing back the old skool. Makes me nostalgic for the bad old days of rattling other people's cars with my subs Er, I, well, have tested this song's performance out personally in this manner. It works well! EDIT: If you liked that, another song from about the same period that you might enjoy...and they are much better live. That is pretty good, I will have to look up more of their music. Thanks! As for right now: Shake Me by Mint Royale. It's rather good, and by rather good I mean awesome.
Rabish Bini Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Welcome Home (Sanitarium) - Metallica, I have no idea why I like this song, or why its probably my fav song, probably just cos its Metallica
Da_man Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Welcome Home (Sanitarium) - Metallica, I have no idea why I like this song, or why its probably my fav song, probably just cos its Metallica Wow, i was just listening to that. Funky. By the way, you might want to make your name on your sig pic a little darker.
Pho3nix Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Listening to Supernatural Superserious from R.E.M.'s new album Accelerate I'm positively surprised, since Around the Sun was so boring and well, mediocre. They haven't made a decent album for some time, but Accelerate brings R.E.M. back to It's roots. 8/10
Rabish Bini Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Currently listening to: Shaddap You Face - Joe Dolce One of the funniest songs i've heard, and also was number one in many charts around the world, check it out!
Ravnas Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 Bad Day-R.E.M. To me its the quintessential R.E.M. song
Rabish Bini Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Black Fire - DragonForce A song that actually manages to be faster than Through the FIre and Flames, Wow! How fast can those guys play guitar and drums, definately one for the speed metal fans.
Da_man Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 ^ One of my faves. I am Night, Colour Me black-Priestess Not thier best, but still a good song.
Boba Rhett Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Ravnas reminded me that I haven't listened to much R.E.M. lately so I just went on a binge and listened to Nightswimming, Losing My Religion and Daysleeper. I haven't gotten a chance to listen to Accelerate yet but I'm hoping it's really the throwback that I hear it is. Hey, did anyone else hear that STP is getting back together?
DarthAve Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Currently listening to.. Something About Us by Daft Punk. I found out they were French when researching french musicans. Which is cool because if I ever meet them, I'm learning French, and I was a Daft fan BEFORE Kayne sampled them, so yay. Also, on the subject of R.E.M. I just recently decided to buy Losing my Religion on iTunes and I love it. I'm gonna look at more of their stuff as soon as I get more money.
Rabish Bini Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Are You Dead Yet - Children of Bodom I actually really despise Death Metal, I just can't stand it, or any other metal which sounds like wild donkeys dying, but this is actually a really good song, the only one I like from Children of Bodom and that entire genre.
Commander Obi-Wan Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 "Inside The Fire" - Disturbed It's from their new album, Indestructible coming out June 3rd. I'm so stoked for that album.
Pho3nix Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 It's from their new album, Indestructible coming out June 3rd. I'm so stoked for that album. Me too.
adamqd Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 I've Journeyed back to my Funk-Neo-Disco days, and broke out the Jamiroquai, I have all the Albums but I've been listening to Synkronized most, Funky as you like! I found myself body popping in a tea cozy at work... How Embarrassing
Hoad Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 I used to be into Dragonforce, saw them live like 5 times and then got a bit bored of them, it all got a bit immature, not to mention they sound really bad live. I'm listening to There She Goes by Babyshambles.
Ztalker Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 4 Minutes - Madonna ft. Justin Timberlake Never thought I'd listen to a Madonna song...but this one is...special. I like the underlying beat and it's originality. Maybe the hand of Timberland? I don't know but it's realy catchy
Ghost Down Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Another member introduced me to Alestorm. It is "true Scottish Pirate Metal". It is similar to Dragonforce except better IMO. There are a bunch of videos just playing the music. Just check some of them out. Link. I recommend "Captain Morgan's Revenge" and "Over the Seas". Hah, I just went out to buy their album after reading your post, and must say that I'm rather fond of them
