Games that need a live action movie

If you have a game that you think can use a live action movie, share your thoughts here.

I'd like to see how Metroid would play out. But to do good, it would need a kickass director. Jessica Alba would be fit to play Samus. Or maybe an unknown. If they made it to Prime 3, Willem DaFoe should play Admiral Dane.

If they were to make a Zelda movie, then it would require some MAJOR changes and then it would suck.

They had better not throw away the Metal Gear Movie, they have a production company now, there's no reason not to come through with it.

Halo would make a good movie too. I hope it isn't cancelled, I'd like to see how it plays out.

MW would surely be kickass as a movie.

KOTOR, to be in it's purest form of entertainment and in it's fullest form, could be done better as a series. ^But yeah, i'd like that as well xD.

Well I read an interview with Lucas saying he might consider a Live Action series set in the KotOR era if the other(s) work out well, but it was just briefly mentioned and I wouldn't look much into it...

I'd love to see something like NWN with a high budget and a very good director.

Half-life.

Definitely.

Well, Valve confirmed that there will never be a Half-Life movie. I think that makes sense because Half-Life is an environment custom-tailored to fit a video game. Gordon won't speak, for one. Barney won't make the best action movie protagonist. Alyx, maybe - but then something just wouldn't look right, because, well, you're making a movie without Gordon.

Besides, if the movie is based on the Black Mesa incident, you shouldn't expect a whole lot of storyline from Gordon other than crowbars, headcrabs and shooting. :p It would be interesting to see a compilation of Black Mesa survival stories, something like the Animatrix.

Hell yeah, an Animatrix for the entire Half-Life world would be terrific!

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, think about it for 5 seconds.

Isn't Ridly Scott, making that?

Mario Kart.

I was going to say Oblivion but that would be a bad idea. Those unfamilier with the gaming world would see it as a carbon copy of Lotr. Im going to say Jedi Knight Dark Forces 1 and 2 made into a trilogy. After reading the novelisation, a movie version would kick ass. I have envisioned so many scenes in my head and how it would all come together. It would be genious plus there is an easily insertable and original twist that could come towards the start of the third film. My god im going to Marin County first thing in the morning.

A few years back, I thought following the path of Jango Fett on his bounty hunting quests in Bounty Hunter could make a decent film. It would be a way to stay within the Star Wars genre, but separate a bit from the jedi point of view.

...then Mace separated Jango's head from his body and that went out the window.

NFS would lend quite a few possibilities for a great story and dynamic film.

Cars, girls, trouble, cops, racing, doublecrosses, did I mention cars?

Can't get enough of finely tuned autos and sweet car chases.

HALO I then skip to HALO III for sequel.

Polish the story with more flood contamination and Spartan background but otherwise fine. Would probably have to engage the human element more and give Master Chief a face periodically, when he's not blowing stuff up.

Maser Chief, super slo-mo, double-fisted... OOOh Yah!

GTA would be another get rich or die tryin', gangster wannabe, Tony Montana rip off.

There are so many of these rags to riches by any means movies out there, but with some unusual twists and over the top sex and violence, it would probably sell well.

I think great games deserve not to have a live action movie.

qft. if they were done right, games could make great movies, but never are done right. they always aim the movies at a thick-skulled pre-teen audience incapable of grasping a plot further than 'kill things'. it's disappointing.
