Since it doesn't have to do with a specific IP, now my guess is some kind of re-release bundle of old school games.
Hmmm... Now I'm thinking LucasArts may actually make the "old school" PC games in their library available for purchase via download from Steam, Direct2Drive, and/or GOG. Now that would be awesome!!!

Hope he/she has been there longer than a year.

I think he's coming up on his 1 year anniversary at LucasArts.

They picked up Duke Nukem Forever?

YES!

Their launching their new LucasPorn division.

Metal bikinis will be the first announced page.

 Don't even get me started. :dev11:

Dammit I get excited fast and I'm pretty excited so LA better not screw this up.

OR what? You can only get so "excited" before something happens. :dev8::xp:

Considering how "spectacular" LucasArts cames have been recently, "awesome news for our old school fans" can probably be translated into: "We took this old idea that was totally awesome and everyone loved it and took it in a new direction turning it into another poorly done over-hyped piece of trash that everyone will hate us for!"

[Translation]: Typical rehashing for a quick money grab. A meatbag tactic often employed. With declining results and effectiveness as it insults the intelligence of all other meatbags. [/HK-47]

Oh! I got it I know what it is!

They are announcing a partnership with Rockstar Games and are finally making Grand Theft Speeder: Coruscant... a game made completely of win!

*See's everyone staring blankly*

Well I can keep dreaming dammit! :xp:

Heheh. I remember when you first thought of that. It was within days after I joined here on LucasForums.

If you're serious, actually right now there is a freebie download for GMOD--just pick you up a GMOD compatible game, buy the mod program, make some stuff, and you'd probably have your own STAR WARS GTS Coruscant City :dev8:

 That would definitely be something.

:devsmoke:

Well, maybe if they re-released the Super SW series from the SNES era, I guess I'd be cool with that.

So this could potentially be an awesome game. I'm thinking Kotor III, jedi knight 4, new tie fighter game.... err... battlefront 3. All potentially decent to awesomesauce games. :)

What do you guys think?

(sorry about starting a new thread, was excited and missed this one)

Possibly, but do you really expect anything?

I'm thinking Kotor III, jedi knight 4, ... err... battlefront 3

Not likely/not being announced

new tie fighter game....

That is more likely, but we won't know until Monday.

It won't be a KOTOR 3, 'cuz they're making TOR. ;)

just because they are making TOR doesn't mean there won't be a kotor3... sure it's extremely unlikely, but i can dream right? :xp:

Sure, there might be a K3, but only after TOR's been out for a little while. It would be really stupid to make a K3 right now.

Not like I would complain if they did...but they won't.

Probably. ;)

I would rather a client of LA tweet these tweets, then at least you guess what it is and have a faint hope that it won't be crap.

The Good: They'll take a good ole' title or a really good star wars game from years past and remake it. No nasty surprises, no gimmicks, just like the old one, only with today's bells and whistles. That's the best case scenario (pretty sad), nostalgia in HD.

The Bad: Could be anything. A library of classics going to XBLA/PSN (who cares, right?), or Force Unleashed 2, or some crappy obscure license of theirs that no one cares about. Or a new TOR trailer that's gotten way over-hyped.

The Ugly: Lego KOTOR, Lego Indy and the Crystal Skull, Lego Howard the Duck, Lego Roller Coaster Tycoon, that gaffed Rogue Squadron sequel was actually Lego Rogue Squadron, they've found a developer for Battlefront III and rebuilt it with Legos. Or worse, Layoffs...

Hmm, apparently, somebody guessed it dead-on. <:|

Skimming through some of the replies and such, iPhone Monkey Island sounds the most plausible and LA-like.

But then again, in one tweet he says "I know this is something I was asking for since before I worked at LucasArts." I really, really hope this guy had higher expectations than mobile adaptations before coming to LucasArts.

What are you talking about? Mobile adaptations are just the sort of blue-sky thinking that LucasArts is all about. :xp:

Steam isn't my preferred medium, but it's better than nothing. I'm still disappointed that any of the older SW games aren't available as of yet, but they'll probably be gradually released. Now the sadists want us to wait until Wednesday. T_T
