Benny Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 The Mojo forums are dead, alright not quite dead but dying. We're definitely talking 'call in the priest' time here. What's gone wrong? Are we all, as Scabb suggests, jaded old cynics who'd rather play an extended directors cut of stupid invaders than post in another 'favourite adventure game' thread? Is it that there's no-one left and this thread will be read by about 4 people? Or is it that we've simply run out of stuff to talk about? Either way we need some sort of recovery plan. Here's mine, we all post lots of interesting threads, have intelligent witty conversation throughout them and oh look a flying pig. How about, over the next week each of us (ie all 10 or so of us) attempts to start a new thread, relevant or not. To hell with spam and irrelevance, its far preferable to the current inactivity. Even better this thread can count as my piece of irrelevant junk, thereby freeing me from having to follow my own daft idea, hoorah!
Thrik Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 *agrees* These forums were quite active until these new MI Discussion Forums came into existence. They're cool, but they killed Mojo!
BooJaka Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 I think we've all just run out of things to talk about, it's not as though much has really happened in the world relavent to this board recently. We need some new adventure news from LEC or something to get the pulse going again.
scabb Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 Go find things on the interent! Post links to them. On the forums. Here. Discuss other things, such as films. Or books. Or articles. Politics. Television. Non-adventure games. etc. For instance, "Look at all the crappy Monkey Island parodies on Newgrounds" "10 reasons why I hate Medal of Honour" "Which celebrity would you most like to deep fry?" "Wow, I saw the fifth element last night, what a sucky film that is" etc.
Hellbeard Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 no wonder these boards have gone cuppoot (sp?) Its because I stopped spamming here!
Jake Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 Yeah, as is always the case, these forums empty out when the MI forums open back up, sadly
Hellbeard Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 Yeah, because Mojo was the unoffical MI place but now we haven't got that no more. Now we're just failures.
Benny Posted February 23, 2003 Author Posted February 23, 2003 Erm..speak for yourself. Everyone...threads........now.
Gabez Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 Well, really these Mojo forums should be for general LucasArts, not Monkey Island. So I don't think that's the problem. The thing is, if people take a look at this place and find that there's no new posts, they're hardly going to be encouraged to post something. Conclusion: go post stuff!! Go go go!
MeddlingMonk Posted February 24, 2003 Posted February 24, 2003 Things are bound to pick up when E3 happens.
QueZTone Posted February 24, 2003 Posted February 24, 2003 not really, there'll be a seperate E3 forum again ;( and for games talk, each game has got its own forums, that kinda the problem
SamNMax Posted February 24, 2003 Posted February 24, 2003 I'm sorry. But I think the threds are just boring. Let's get a little more wild, insted of talking about Lord of the Rings (Which sucked, all movies from books suck.).
Metallus Posted February 24, 2003 Posted February 24, 2003 If you think the threads are boring, then start up one that interests you. I think we've had enough of "What's your favorite LucasArts gaem lols" for awhile, though.
Riffage Posted February 25, 2003 Posted February 25, 2003 i think me posting how to "hack" the store could produce some more intelligent conversation .....no? didnt think so either
Spaff Posted February 25, 2003 Posted February 25, 2003 we could build messages of mass destruction and use them to take over the other forums? or just have random debates.
Alien426 Posted March 6, 2003 Posted March 6, 2003 I don't hate Medal Of Honor. I'd like to deep fry Heather Graham (only the first who comes to mind). Fifth Element is an extremely sucky film.
C Shutt Posted March 6, 2003 Posted March 6, 2003 ****ing oath. Chris Tucker in the Fifth Element was more irritating than Jar Jar Binks.
GendoTheGreat Posted March 6, 2003 Posted March 6, 2003 I won't sit here and listen to you two bad-mouth The Fifth Element. Since its video release, it has been a cheap and highly effective substite for general anaesthetic for many underpriveliged people. Shame on you.
Skinkie Posted March 7, 2003 Posted March 7, 2003 Originally posted by Spaff we could build messages of mass destruction and use them to take over the other forums? Believe me when I say they don't go in for this kinda thing around here... especially those Galactic Battleground guys....
Tall Guy Posted March 10, 2003 Posted March 10, 2003 If you wanna talk about dead forums get over to the GF forums, now that place is dying :(
Gabez Posted March 10, 2003 Posted March 10, 2003 That's bad, Tall Guy. :/ But... you gotta love the irony.
ptdc Posted March 10, 2003 Posted March 10, 2003 I have a cold, and I'm going to blame it on you lot because I'm bitter and twisted like that.
scabb Posted March 11, 2003 Posted March 11, 2003 The only forums that are flooded are the Monkeh Island ones. Unfortunately, they're also polluted. It makes me want to put a frowning emoticon right here.
jannar85 Posted March 19, 2003 Posted March 19, 2003 It's not dying.... The Adventure Developers forum is dying I post in here as often as possible. It's me who usually kick life into the SCUMM hackers forum.
scabb Posted March 19, 2003 Posted March 19, 2003 Heh, the AdventureDeveloper forums were never truly alive There seem to be a lot of forums that aren't posted in too much nowadys, such as the Indy forums, the Grim Fandango forums, the Sam and Max forums.. Still, there's more movies and games for all of those forums to post about, except for the Grim Fandango Network, which has been injected with slow acting sproutella, and has no liquid nitrogen. Irony isn't always fun.
