I was playing Jedi Outcast when in the setup bar I saw something that said "Mods". I went to google and typed "PC Game Mods Jedi Outcast". Good old google directed me to http://www.pcgamemods.com. I thought, "cool!". I started downloading all these mods and as I was looking through the read-mes, I saw many references to "all the guys at lucasforums" . So I decided to check the place out. I was stuck at the Jedi Temple Puzzle before fighting Desann. So I looked at what the forums where, signed up as Tie, but it was taken, and Tie 23 rhymed. I was really into Jedi Knight, when I heard about Jedi Outcast, I was excited and went to JediKnightII.net. I saw the website. When Jedi Outcast patch 1.04 was released, I took a look at the forums. I was dying for info, and was hearing rumors that one of my fave games ever was getting a sequel, I decided to peruse the forums. Been here since. Interesting note - I was very resistant at first - I'm a pre-Web nethead, and still do much with 'text-only' sources. In particular, I was very resistant of moving away from my beloved Usenet to these 'one subject per web site' forums ... very inefficient. But, alas, you go where the people are ... I also made my avatar around the SSBM character Game & Watch, because my bro was good at fighting with him, and we liked the whole concept of the character, so we slapped sabers on him and made it an avatar. I spent most of my time at the JA forums, thius getting toughed up When there I noticed al few of the 'regulars' I knew, IG-64, Crow, Clemme etc were wandering off to here. I did a couple of recon runs and thought you were all freaks. About 6 months later I came to settle. My very first post in the swamp was to lexxy, asking what the XX stood for, the thread got closed after that.... but I soon learned that lexxy was our mum and that is no way to speak to your forum mum ! Now I have been year about a year, and though Ive had some altercations with quite a few persons, theyve mostly been resolved.....there's only one person I wish I had the power to set on fire with the power of my mind ........ Heres how I describe the most endearing(to me) swampies : -Crow - aka the man with no face who looks like Harry Potter. The spam master -IG-64 - bored. aka mr G & W who always sticks up for Mr GWB ! -Sabre - the indian goth who makes lists and struck the first blow in the EV*** conflict -CapNColostomy - aka my evil twin - the only person I have ever used the *F* word against on the internet. Now a chat buddy.....great taste in music -Mike Windu - needs to speak to Dr Phil. Has a bizarre fascination with R kelly....... -Pie - cool norwegian goth dude, cool musical tastes too -ET - king who went from hero to zero, once he stopped using hair gel and bought the geekiest watch ever conceived -Siv - quirky sense of humour, superhero fetish. He's just such a nice guy, you gotta wonder if he's really a serial killer...... -Obi - one minute he's a preacher, t'other he's wearin his jocks outside his pants.....its kinda frightening -Mike(txa) - always nice to have an old man around lecturing us and tellin us 'back in the day' stories -Kurgan - amazingly scary, great at keeping those JA forum nuts in line -Kain - goth in denial ?
