DarthParametric Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 I would presume the ME3 import does something along those lines, just automatically. Much like Awakening, it probably just takes a pre-final mission save and inserts a canon ending. In some respects they were doing this across the board already, assuming the events of LotSB and Arrival happened regardless of whether your Shep played the DLC or not.
Totenkopf Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 That's stupid. They made it clear before Mass Effect 2 came out that if your Shepard died during Mass Effect 2, their story was over. Besides, what's so difficult about reloading to just before the end-game and doing it a different way so their Shepard lived? Or is that just too difficult? Given how lazy people are anymore, likely the latter. It's pretty stupid, I agree. Afterall, going back a loyalty mission or two (most aren't very long, much faster than starting from scratch) would fix the problem (well, that and making sure you had all the proper ship upgrades).
DarthParametric Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 From Twitter: "The Shepard dies import is not currently on the table. I think that was a slip of the tongue. If shep dies in ME2 he's dead ;)" So it seems it was just another gaffe from that clueless marketing idiot.
Alkonium Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 From Twitter: "The Shepard dies import is not currently on the table. I think that was a slip of the tongue. Good, because it's kind of hard to explain away getting incinerated in a massive explosion at the centre of the galaxy.
mimartin Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Good, because it's kind of hard to explain away getting incinerated in a massive explosion at the centre of the galaxy. Cloned from a eyelash found on the Normandy.
Alkonium Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Cloned from a eyelash found on the Normandy. Except that would leave the problem of Shepard's memories, since the wouldn't get that off an eyelash.
Sabretooth Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Except that would leave the problem of Shepard's memories, since the wouldn't get that off an eyelash. Oh, you didn't know about Magical Mass Effect-Powered Memory Downloader/Uploader Thingamajiggabob? We introduced it in this game. Funny we didn't mention it before. Shepard downloaded his memories just before he died in there, lol. Go upload them now.
Alkonium Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 On the other hand, if Shepard can get better from being dead, I'm pretty sure he/she can get better from being reduced to dust.
Mav Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Except that would leave the problem of Shepard's memories, since the wouldn't get that off an eyelash.Apparently you haven't played Assassin's Creed, otherwise you would know that memories are stored in DNA.
Taak Farst Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 I wonder how many posts ago this thread was truly derailed Anyway, Phaedon later posted on twitter after saying a "special import for dead sheps might be possible" that this was a mistake and these imports WONT BE possible in ME3
DarthParametric Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 So canon FemShep is a redhead it would seem? http://deltagamer.com/15039/new-femshep-artwork-revealed-at-pax I guess all the blonde haters will be happy. Although now the ginger haters will be up in arms.
Q Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 The default FemShep should've looked like Jen Hale from the beginning.
Lynk Former Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Well that was all pretty pointless then... lol
mimartin Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Mass Effect 3 Preview from Everybody Plays UK. Warning does contain some spoilers.
Qui-Gon Glenn Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 ^^^ Nice to read about some gameplay experience. The POV of the author was a little hard to follow, but nevertheless this fed my ME3 needs for the day Thanks mimi!
mimartin Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 According to a few reports, all based on a comment by Rob Blake on Twitter, Mass Effect will have around 40,000 lines of dialogue. Mass Effect had around 20,000 and Mass Effect 2 had around 25,000. Examiner BeefJack
Sabretooth Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 How many of them will be single-syllable sexual grunts?
Darth_Calo Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 How many of them will be single-syllable sexual grunts? That and how many of them will be "Wrex/Grunt/Fill-in-the-blank-Krogan-Squadmate). Shepard." My guess is...a lot
Astor Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Multiplayer Mode Confirmed “That’s right – Mass Effect 3 is getting multiplayer! We travel to BioWare’s office in Edmonton for hands-on time with the series’ first foray into online gameplay, and chat with Mass Effect Series Producer and Mass Effect 3 Project Director Casey Hudson about the decision to go multiplayer in the epic battle for the galaxy.” Nooooooooooooooo
ChAiNz.2da Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Multiplayer Mode Confirmed Depends on how it's introduced. Dead Space 2 has multiplayer.. but it's just maps. Nothing storyline or anything to do with the SP campaign. Same with AC: Brotherhood. (and countless others). As long as it's optional, I don't care. Once it interferes (being mandatory for completion) with the campaign, then it's breached SP etiquette
mimartin Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 what ChAiNz wrote....my question it has been confirmed that ME3 has almost twice the lines of lines of dialogue as ME and now mutiplayer...How long will it take to download this? Sorry steam/xbox live I'll buy the dics.
swphreak Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 My money is on it being some kind of co-op feature. Perhaps Bioware learned a thing or two about co-op from working on The Old Republic?
Dread Advocate Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Dang it Astor! You beat me to it! I'm not liking this one bit, because whether it's co-op or something else, there'll be, without a doubt, achievements/trophies that require usage of multiplayer. Without Live, I'm kind of incapable of acquiring said achievements.
