The Doctor Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Heh... we tied for the post. RIP, Steve. You were a good man, and we'll miss you.
90SK Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 He seemed quite invincible, doing all those dangerous things on television. It's a terrible thing that he died so young. R.I.P.
milo Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Poor guy. I always thought that it'd be a croc that got him, too.
RedHawke Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 It's a terrible thing that he died so young. R.I.P. QFE... R.I.P. Steve
Jae Onasi Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Bummer. I love his shows and his ability to make nature less mysterious and even more interesting than it already is. That is a bizarre accident. RIP....

Shem Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 I would have been very surprised if Steve had lived to an old age. It's still very sad!
Clone L68362 Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Yep, pretty surprising. I never thought he would be killed so soon, or by a stingray. At least he led a good life. *Salute*
REDJOHNNYMIKE Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Too bad:( Didn't the guy dangle snakes in front of his face? You could kinda see it happening eventually.

Sabretooth Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Yeah, I read the news. Very sad that he ended this way. He always seemed so cool and confident in the face of danger. I wish he hadn't died that way, he was such a great man.
Mav Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Bummer. I love his shows and his ability to make nature less mysterious and even more interesting than it already is. That is a bizarre accident. RIP.... QFE, it is a real shame, but at least he went down doing something he loved.
Ztalker Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Crickey... I feel so sorry for his children. They lose their dad at such a young age. Unbelievably tragic..unbelievable. On a sie note, he died in the field. I think that's how he wanted it to end... Steve, may you rest in peace!
DarkLordDeagle Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 I only live an hour and a ahlf away from Australia Zoo and I only went there just last year. It was quite a shock to know that an Aussie Icon, no, Aussie Legend passed away in such a tragic accident. R.I.P Steve. Mate only the good ones die young and you were one of the good ones. Aussie Aussie Aussie...
Aurora Merlow Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Its a sad day for Australia, and the world. He did so much for animals and conservation in general. RIP Steve, we'll miss you mate
HerbieZ Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 He's one of those people that i would have loved to have met. He was definately the most confident person i had ever seen, he loved his job and always knew the risks. I remember watching though in one of his documentaries, saying that, between growing old and incapacitated and living the life he leads, he preferred to die on the job and doing the thing he loved the most. While it is sad he is gone, he went in the way that he wanted to go and how we remember him. He spent his life dedicated to the conservation of animals and was doing that upto the very second he died. That is how il remember him.
Fiestainabox Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Ha, I rember watching one of the crocidile hunter Marathons on Animal Planet, 24 hours of Steve Erwin. I got to know him to well.RIP.
Bob Lion54 Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 R.I.P Mr. Irwin Its sad but he died doing what he loved. Not many people will be able to say that. Here's to ya Mate! Rest in peace.
