REDJOHNNYMIKE
Our feet are a very important part of our body, which take quite a bit of abuse. Such valuable pieces of equipment should be protected from harm. Fortunately there is an interesting invention which goes by many names and has a great many mutations, but for simplicity's sake I will refer to as "the Shoe" These "Shoes" protect our feet from the dangerous elements as well as providing cushioning to lessen the damage resulting from our assaulting them by constantly thrashing them upon the earth. It occured to me the other day that there are many different ways of attaching shoes to our feet, and there are a lot of people who do it different ways. So without further jibber jabber on my part, I present to you... The official Ahto "How do you attach your shoes?" thread and poll! Do you choose security or convenience when tying your shoes, do yours even have laces? These are just some of the questions we will strive to provide answeres to in this discussion... Personally, I tie my shoes once and slip them on and off for the duration of their use. This slowly wears out the heel, but I find the efficiency to be worth the wear and tear. ...discuss
Emperor Devon
I have to say, this thread's title really got me curious about you for a moment... I'm not that complex with what I do. I wear closed-toe shoes that don't have any laces. I don't have to worry about the cold weather affecting my feet, and in the rare instance something heavy falls on or hits them, I don't have to worry about excruciating pain. My shoes take barely any time to put on, and since they're not clogs, they won't go flying off if I ever have to hurry somewhere. Complete convenience for me. Jae Onasi
I'm a 'tied tight' gal. Or sometimes tied loose. Depends on my mood. As long as the laces don't touch the floor for me to trip on, I'm happy. I wear mostly New Balance sneakers, even at work with my 'dress up clothes' (black ones, of course to go with the outfits), because I had foot surgery about 10 years back and I'd like to continue to be able to walk. When the ortho doc said told me never to wear pumps again, I said 'Thank you!' He thought that was a bit odd until I told him I hate the things anyway. Oh, and that Location is "Hotel Asylum". I see you've been studying numerology in your spare time.

Samnmax221
I have a pair of almost worn out AASIC's, Work boots, pack boots, Jungle boots, and the crap hiking boots I wear at work. Most of the time I just wear the ruung shoes, unless of course I have a differant purpose then just casually walking around. I tie em pretty tight. Darth333
dude, i so about had a 'WTF' moment when i read that title. Me too My answer: all of the above. I have no real preference. What I wear depends on my mood, what I'm wearing and where I'm going. While I don't have as many as Imelda Marcos, I have lots of shoes of all kinds and colors for every occasion, from high heels sandals to sealskin Kamiks. RC-1162
hehe, now i know why the mods didnt swoop down on this thread. another typlical RJM thread on the loose, well i like mine tied down tight. I had them loose while playing football (soccer, if you will) i kicked at the ball, and my shoe went into the goal. discouraged all the loose-tiedness in my laces from then on
Diego Varen
I wear slip ons. I do wear laced shoes, but I find it annoying that they always come undone.
Mav
It depends, when I play sports, meaning when I wear cleats or runningshoes, tied tight to my feet, for obvious reasons, and in the case of football (Americano) sometimes my cleats were taped to my ankle, I had my ankle taped and my shoe taped and then my shoe taped to my ankle, it was quite the hassle to remove. But I broke my ankle freshman year, so this was like putting on a soft cast to prevent it from breaking again. However when I wear casual shoes, they are tied, but in a knot, not a bow and tucked under the shoe tounge and they are tied loose so I can slide in and out of my shoes for ease. But most of the time I don't wear shoes, I wear slippers... um I think you mainlanders call them "flip-flops", where I'm from they are called slippers. Jeff
for just everyday shoes I tie them loosly once and then just slip them on and off from then on. For like football cleats and basketball shoes I tie them tight every time and double knot them.

The Source
Lol... This thread gives a new meaning to the naked foot. I will never look at shoes the same. I like my shoes to fit just right.
milo
Ugh. I don't understand how anyone can un-tie and re-tie their shoes every time they put them on or take them off. I just tie them loosely, and then slip 'em on after that. Though a lot of the time I'm wearing flip-flops anyway.
Jason Skywalker
I don't wear shoes at all. I wear either sneakers or sandals.
The Doctor
I have a pair of almost worn out AASIC's, Work boots, pack boots, Jungle boots, and the crap hiking boots I wear at work. Most of the time I just wear the ruung shoes, unless of course I have a differant purpose then just casually walking around. I tie em pretty tight. If you wear hiking boots to work, why do you own work boots? I always untie my shoes when I take them off, and re-tie them when I put them back on - you know, the way they were meant to be used.
