Similarly, it's the book that appeals to me - not that they've shown anything from the inside yet, weirdly! I'd consider that as a separate purchase but can't see it happening.

Just pre-ordered mine. I'm hoping that if it sells well, with the renewal of "Lucasfilm Games," we might see a new Monkey Island game someday...

Well, on the last day of pre-orders, I finally bit the bullet and placed my order. I really hope it's worth it, it's quite a bit of money

I would like this one, but I would not even dare to open in case I would regret that after 20 years if the value will be huge with a sealed one. And buying two of them would be too expensive and also quite greedy because someone else may want one. I'll skip this one!

Wow, umm, that's a crazy amount of signatures to be putting on a person. That's also holding up work Ron could be doing on their next game. If a signature takes 5 seconds, that extrapolates out to just under 14 hours of labor PLUS he can't use his hand to type on a keyboard for maybe a week.

Agreed. That's insane. Still by my rough calculations you could do it in five, extremely boring and carpel tunnel syndrome inducing, hours. (I timed myself writing 40 signatures in one minute.)

 

Ron's too smart to agree to something like that, though? Is he going to stamp them or something instead?

My best guess is they shot themselves in the foot by promising certificates hand-signed by Ron Gilbert, and then accidentally selling multiple thousands of boxsets.

I think they realized they made a tragic mistake in eliminating the Ultimate Insult sketch and are willing to pull out all the stops to atone for it.

They may just be feeling the pinch from the global shipping crate shortage and ship docking backups. But also the many, many signatures may have been an oops-ie.

It looks like LRG listened once again and swapped out the awful Murray head with the great version used in ToMI. Also that book looks so massive, I'm psyched!

My guess is they wanted to avoid potential derp face eyes by using stickers instead of having them hand-painted on.

It looks like it's being faithful to the MI2:SE sprites, which had these (to me) creepy eyes.

I just was hoping for the statue to look more like Guybrush from that CGI trailer.
